Volumes of Love: Start the Party

As with many wedding ceremonies, our wedding party and parents were the first people to walk down the aisle, and they all did a fantastic job.  They remembered exactly what we rehearsed, even if I didn’t remember a thing!

I know I talked about our music selection a while ago, but I never quite revealed what people would be walking in to.  Mr. Library and I decided that “You and Me” by Lighthouse would be the perfect song for our friends and family because it really is all about us and “all of the people” who stand by us through all the parts of our lives we face.  It was only fitting to have them acknowledged with this song.  Press play to get the real effect.

Father Walter was the first one to walk down the aisle, followed by FIL Library and Groomswoman K.  Because I am still somewhat traditional, we had Groomswoman K escort FIL Library into the ceremony so that it would remain boy-girl.  While it honestly doesn’t matter if we had two girls together (you’ll see what we had three together later on), it fit with how we needed the Groom Squad to get to their places.I love the way her dress looked with the guys’ suits.  It was a color match made in heaven, and there was no mistaking that she was an honored member of the Groom Squad and not a bridesmaid.

Next came BIL K and MIL Library.  While he doesn’t look it, he was really happy on that day.  I promise.

Leading up to the wedding, FIL Library wouldn’t tell me what her dress looked like.  Why?  I have no idea.  She kept saying it would be a surprise for me on that day.  While I love surprises, the weeks leading up to the wedding were not that time to have wardrobe surprises.  I needed to know that everything was going to look good and work together.  In the end, she looked great, but I have to admit something to you… Seeing her dress definitely didn’t make the top ten things I was joyously surprised over that day.  There were a few other things I was way more excited about.

We had Groomsman D walk Mom Library down the aisle.  She had been looking forward to meeting him for so long, we thought it only right to have them together.Doesn’t Mom Library look amazing in that dress?  I love it!  Maybe I could borrow it for something…

Finally, Mr. Library and Best Man K walked down the aisle together.  For those who really know them, this whole concept is hilarious because of their bromance.  Mr. Library was very happy to be walking in with his best man, though you can still see a little nervousness in his face.  He’s too adorable. As soon as Mr. Library was in place, Mom Library and MIL Library lit the unity pillar candles.  I am so glad that our photographer took pictures of it, as our videographer seemed to have missed the whole thing.  The Unity Candle was an important ritual that was symbolic to Mr. Library and I, and while we took a quick look into a sand ceremony, we liked how old and traditional the Unity Candle was. With the candles in place, Mr. Library took his spot at the front to watch the ladies come in.First up was Bridesmaid Al.  She had been waiting on a cue from our wedding coordinator that never seemed to come, but she kept it together and decided to make the walk her own.  She was also the smart one who wore flats.  She must have gone to an Ivy League grad school…

After Al came Cousin/Bridesmaid As.  She was a pro at being calm all day, and she looked absolutely gorgeous.

Miss Sox was after that, and she had the best walk down the aisle in the bunch.  Remember how I kept having issues with my shoes falling through the cracks during rehearsal?  Well, this time it was her turn, except that she fell out of her shoe instead!  It is one of my favorite parts of our wedding video for the processional.  I laugh every time!Bridesmaid C was up, and while she was a little nervous to be walking in front of everyone, I think her smile gave away how much she liked the wedding.  And she was in heels!  MOH Sister Library was the final bridesmaid to walk, and she put on her fierce Tyra face to walk it out. While all of our wedding party were gorgeous and handsome, the three munchkins who came next stole the show.  How could you not love having adorable children in your wedding?  They did an amazing job and behaved so well!

With flower girl E down the aisle, there was just one person left before we could begin… me.
