Volumes of Love: The Small Things in Life

There were so many little pieces to our wedding, and I put a lot of effort into almost every single part of it.  I wanted to make sure that the small pieces of our wedding day ensembles got their time in the sun, so we made sure to get pictures of them.

The little pieces for Mr. Library were his cufflinks and his tie.  We purchased ties from Cyberoptix for all of the men in our wedding party because they were unique, individualized, and, well, just plain awesome.  Mr. Library loved his tie, and I’m pretty sure the rest of the group did as well.I love that each guy his own pattern that spoke to something about him.  BIL Library loves lobster and loves to represent Maine at his Southern Carolina university.  Groomsman D is loveably sarcastic and speaks French, so his tie was “This is not a tie” in French.  Our dads are classic men, so we went with Dad Library’s beekeeping hobby and a stoic tree for FIL Library.  Best Man K is crazy and random, so octopus tentacles were perfect; Mr. Library wanted to look distinguished, and there is no way I am going to argue with how he looked.  He looked… perfect.  Absolutely perfect.

As for me, I had a lot of little details from the classic tradition “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.”  Blue, of course, was my patterned shoes that matched Sister Library’s MOH dress. My something old and borrowed were both from Mom Library’s collection.  I borrowed her diamond earrings Dad Library gave her one Christmas.  The something old was her step-grandmother’s pin, which I attached to my bouquet.  It was beautiful. My “something new” took quite a few forms.  First, I had my new jewelry, which were a bracelet and the earrings shown in the picture above.  I also had my custom garter (shown above) and my veil.I wanted my girls to have something new and customized too, so I made them flip flops for the reception.

Oh, then of course there was this little something that fit into the new category…And I was about to put it on…

Walk me through this:

Our bridal party began to come together!

We did as UPS does!

We’re cat-walking baby!

We practiced eating!

Our wedding gets Jewish!

The girls and I have a slumber party!

I fell in love with a poet.

Mr. Library runs around.

Wake up call!

Christmas in July

Hairscapades abound

Making us up as we go

The Groom Squad strikes back

Magical flowers
